Somatic Journeys blend bodywork, somatic mindfulness, IFS parts work and guided meditation and breathwork with your unique spiritual intention and healing or unfolding. No one journey is like another, as you are the primary facilitator in how the sessions are directed. This work is deep and profound, and can unravel complex spaces of chronic pain, holding patterns, or mental-emotional patterning that can, at times, feel like it has kept us hostage.
IFS is a therapeutic modality that helps us dialogue with the different parts and voices we have internally. Some of these parts are referred to as protectors, they typically share a story of needing to keep us safe or contained to avoid hurt in one way. Other parts are exiled or wounded, or child-like and seeking support or care. All of our parts make up aspects of who we are, but they can also trigger our nervous system to be reactive and responsive to situations that no longer warrant such a response. Most of these parts simply want to be acknowledged or seen, express what they need to share and consoled in the right way so that they can take shape into a more helpful form for your current state in life.
The bodywork in the sessions varies, but is tailored to meet you however you need support. At times it is just gentle contact and others it may be more intense holding, pressure, or release. The focus is based on meeting a part, feeling and understanding how and where it may be held in the body, and offering it some additional support to tense, release, or around
